SPIUS attended to Youth Peace Camp in Georgia

The Project "Together towards Peace" is aimed at creation of open space for cooperation and confidence building between Turkish, Armenian and Kurdish youth from Turkey, Iraq, Georgia and Armenia.

SPIUS has been selected from over 200 associations, NGOs, and institutions. It was one of the 30 participants. The main theme was based on Reconciliation and Conflict Resolution that named "Together towards Peace" in the context of Youth Peace Camp for prospective cooperation of the future with 30 participants from Turkey, Armenia, Iraq, and Georgia.

In order to achieve the targeted aims, selected participants have been conducted different workshops in the same purpose throughout one week on between September 5-10, 2012 in Kobuleti, Georgia; such as having small groups upon peace and studying new project for future. The program organized by Union on Kurdish Youth of Georgia (UKYG) in cooperation with The Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation (BST). The camp was consisting of workshops, games, simulations, and other applications as well as trip to Batumi. The International Night has been held on the end of the first day of the camp: different traditions, folks, cultures introduced, and in this perspective country presentation done by delegates.

The distinguished key notes and concepts of the camp were peace, future, cooperation, removing prejudgments, and togetherness. The Camp has been held with the leading of Olexander Voitenko and Alexandra Delemenchuk as trainer, and Zsofia Farkas as observer.

Developed methodology of the camp was aimed to make youth friendlier towards each other, overcome conflicts and deal with the past together in order to build new healthy society in the region. During the camp participant had learnt, communicate and work out the conception of the joint web resource. After the peace camp participants had blog, disseminate photos and mini-documentaries they prepared on the topic of Armenian-Turkish and Kurdish-Turkish relations.
